I am currently an editor and contributor for Canadian Guider, a national Girl Guiding magazine that is distributed to over 22,000 women tri-annually. This magazine addresses a variety of topics including female empowerment, philanthropy, active living, and more.
I have written articles about urban camping, embracing diversity, catering to learning differences, my experience as a Spanish translator in Peru, and more!

In high school, I co-founded a student literary blog called "Scribbles & Gibberish", which provided students with a creative platform to share their editorials, poems, and short stories. With our team of editors, we meet weekly to edit new articles, reassess the blog’s appearance, and brainstorm ways to get more people reading our articles. As one of the co-founders, I actively recruited and mentored new editors. I also taught them how to use our Wordpress platform.
We published a huge variety of pieces. Some of our authors wrote mini-series while others wrote movie and book reviews. Each week, we edited and published 6 to 8 articles.
I’m proud that we created a safe space for students to voice their opinions and improve their writing. I loved working with our team of editors and collaborating with our incredibly talented group of writers!
I've been involved with Girl Guides of Canada for over a decade. Guiding has given me the opportunity to go on countless camping trips, travel the globe and take on leadership positions within the organization. I was a Junior Leader for two years for a Brownie (ages 7-8) and Guide (9-11) unit. As a Junior Leader, I helped organize weekly meetings and plan camping trips. At our meetings, all of our activities were designed to empower and encourage the girls to be their best selves. Our activities aimed to spark the girls' interest in new areas like science and technology.
The best part about being a Junior Leader was knowing that I could inspire young girls in the same way my leaders inspired me. At our weekly meetings, I always tried to be supportive, encouraging, and fun like the leaders I had when I was their age.

After my active involvement in student government throughout high school, I was elected one of nine Senior School Prefect in grade 12 and I assumed the position as Head of the Athletics Council. As a Prefect, I attended weekly meetings where we organized upcoming events like a student council retreat. I also led weekly meetings for the Athletics Council; our focus was to promote an active lifestyle and school sports.
One of the biggest responsibilities as a Prefect was to address the student body. (450 students!) At the end of each term, my co-head and I were required to share highlights from the past sports season.
But, we decided to spice things up a bit! We performed parodies and poems. At the end of the year, we hosted the Athletics Banquet and filled the night with puns and cheesy jokes. We were also asked to emcee the Graduation Gala.
I've always been fascinated by medicine. As a kid, I would perform virtual hip and knee replacements online. Now, I am obsessed with medical dramas, especially Grey's Anatomy.
I was a First Responder in grade 11 and 12. The First Responder training is the highest level of volunteer first aid. After an intensive 40-hour training, I was equipped to deal with everything from heart attacks to headaches, from seizures to spinal injuries, and much more.
As a First Responder, I reported for weekly shifts within my school community and volunteered at the nurses' office during lunch hour at the elementary school. I also administered first aid at community events like the National Fencing Championships!

During my second year as a First Responder, I mentored a team of three new recruits. Since then, I completed my lifeguard training and hope to continue my involvement in first aid.

Did you know that the Dominican Republic has the worst education system in the northern hemisphere? Through the organization Outreach360, I was able to use my education to help make a difference. With members of my high school's Service Council, I traveled to Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic to teach English to children. The ability to speak English can make a huge difference in a child's future. They have a better chance of attending college and finding employment in their tourist-based economy. They can also act as an informant and promote community health.
During the trip, we taught English to children in grades 2 through 7. Our lessons focused on teaching vocabulary related to the weather and one's emotions. We had a wide array of activities including home-made bingo games and sing-alongs.
All in all, it was an incredibly enriching experience that I am grateful to have been a part of.
Volunteer English Teacher.

Over the summer, I have been working as an Educator for Lululemon at the Vancouver Robson Flagship location. As an Educator, I am responsible for connecting with guests to ensure they have a positive experience while in our store.
Lululemon is focused on creating a collaborative atmosphere. As Educators, we are very supportive of one another which makes working in a team of 90+ Educators not only possible but fun!

In this position, I'm learning the importance of creating a human connection with customers and I'm able to see how concepts I've learned in a classroom can apply to the real world.
I am the cinematographer for the Queen's Film Liaison and Industry Committee (QFLIC). QFLIC is responsible for creating professional promotional videos for other committees within the Commerce program at Queen's University. We also act as liaisons between students and experts in the entertainment field.
My role as cinematographer consists of documenting the student experience and filming high quality videos.

This year, I am a photographer for the ComSoc Agency, the marketing and public relations agency for the Commerce Society at Queen's University. We provide a variety of services ranging from photography (my specialty) to graphic design and even user experience and user interface design as well!
Our goal is to help promote other committees and agencies around campus. Our team has a diverse set of skills and specialties which allows us to cater to a wide variety of needs.
